I think it would be a good idea to learn about any functional areas at your current employer that need additional help. Make known your interest in moving toward functional work, and see if you can get any recommendations of areas that you could start learning and assisting with. I can't think of any particular functional areas that your CPS / BPA experience would make you particularly qualified to pursue, so think of yourself as being wide open to possibilities!
Also, if your current employer will pay for training for you, see if they will get you a subscription to the SAP learning hub, and start taking different functional courses available there as part of the subscription. This would be a good way to start getting exposure to the various functional areas.
