my question is regarding the option "Initialize log area" during recovery of Hana database.
Example:
Today it's Monday, 23-11-2015 and I want to restore the Hana database to backup of 21-11-2015 after a logical error on database (drop table for eg.)
Ok, I need data_backup and log_backup (if I want a point in time recovery) BUT I have to initialize the log area or not? I think that the log area is not required with recovery of a backup of two days ago and then I have to check the "Initialize log area" flag but I'm not sure..
Because, with a sandbox environment in which I tried a lot of restore (in a lot of situation) I saw that in some situation I received an error during the recovery regarding the log area the was incombatible with the log_backup
help.sap.com says:
| Initialize log area | If you select this option, no log entries from the log area are replayed, and the log area is initialized. The content of the log area is lost. The log entries from the log backups are replayed if they are needed. You must select the Initialize log area option in the following situations:

but in this situation? what I have to do? Initialize or not initialize that is the question (thank Shakespeare
